Easy Half Up-do Curly Hair

I thought it would be fun to do a photo tutorial on this really simple, but classy hair tutorial that I did. A video is already up on my YouTube channel: misszxcee. Let me know what you think! :) LET’S GET STARTED!

What you need for this hair tutorial:
– Heat protector spray
– Wide tooth comb
– Strong hold hairspray
– about 5 bobby pins
– Medium barrel curling iron
– Teasing brush (optional)

1. Split your hair in half
Splitting your hair in half will ensure that every pieces of hair will be curled.

2. Take a small to medium size of piece of hair
Depending on how curly you want your hair to be, the smaller pieces of hair you curl, the more intense, or the thicker it is, the lesser the intensity.

3. Wrap the piece of hair around the curling iron
The curling iron that I used comes with a clamp. However, curling your hair without using the clamp and wrapping it around the iron instead will give it a more beach-y wave style. Hold the hair in place for about 10-15 seconds.

4. Hairspray every section
You want to spray your strong hold hairspray every time you finish curling a section of your hair. This will ensure that the curls will stay in place as you continue curling the rest of your hair.

5. Start teasing your roots
If you choose to tease your hair, it is time that you do so once you finish curling. Through teasing, it will provide your hair more volume and body especially if you have really thin hair.

6. Time to style it
To achieve a half up-do style, take a piece of hair or your bangs in the front and start by twisting it loosely towards the back of your hair. Secure it through bobby pins. Do the same exact thing on the other side of your hair. To add more detail to the hair, I took a tiny piece of hair right at the top of my ear, twisted it tightly and pinned it across the first piece of hair we twisted.

7. Finish it by hairspraying everything
This will ensure that everything will stay in place throughout the day or night.

…and you are DONE! :)

I really enjoyed creating this simple hairstyle for you. I specifically made this for prom but I realized that prom is not until spring and it’s not even winter yet lol so definitely recreate this for any occasion of your choice. Let me know what you think in the comments below and thanks for visiting you lovelies! :)

xoxo, Camil
