Eye liner was my life in Grade 9, that’s when I started applying make up. I was 13 years old and began learning overtime by watching YouTube make up videos. My very first inspiration is Leesha, also known as xsparkage on Youtube. I watched as much of her videos as I possibly can and from there I turned into a make up addict. The eye shadow colors… the techniques… the magic it does, it started fascinating me, so I started collecting MAC cosmetics, then Sephora, and of course, the drugstore. My make up collection grew and I thought to myself, why not film myself doing make up for fun? That’s when I started YouTube, I was probably 15 or 16 years old and from then on, I started learning more and more from many different make up gurus.
So yes, it’s true. Practice along with passion is the key to learning and improving. I am in no way a make up expert, but I’ve learned all the basics and everything I could about make up through practice. I also started filming fashion videos such as Outfits of the Day and bought magazines to find inspirations. YouTube became an obsession to me as well, up onto this point.
On the other hand, I graduated from Seneca College and received my diploma in Accounting. Do I have any plans to get into make up artistry school? I am not sure just yet, but definitely interested. As of this moment, I still haven’t figured out what I really want to do in life, as a lifetime career. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be a Dentist some day to follow my mom’s footsteps. :)
